Shropshire's firefighters are pioneering a "new generation" of fire engines, as the first frontline emergency service in the UK to use them.

Great excitement filled Edenderry Fire Station as it marked the official delivery and hand-over of the new state of the art Scania fire engine to Edenderry Fire Brigade.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue has taken delivery of the first Scania fire appliance in an order which will see 33 enter service with the brigade over the next three years.

The judging panel included fire service personnel and representatives from Scania, which supplies the fire engines currently in use.
