Donald Trump has appointed British television producer Mark Burnett, who produced "The Apprentice," as a special envoy to the United Kingdom.
Trump named Mark Burnett as his pick for special envoy to the U.K., noting Burnett’s career as a producer for shows like “Survivor,” “Shark Tank,” “The Voice” and Trump’s “The Apprentice” in announcing the choice. Burnett is the former chairman of MGM and a 13-time Emmy Award winner.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said Burnett "brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role."

Burnett, who was born in london, helped produce hits like "Survivor" and "The Voice," but is perhaps best known for teaming up with Trump for "The Apprentice," which first aired on NBC in 2004.
While it's not clear what qualifies Burnett to be a special envoy, it is clear that his relationship with Trump goes back decades.
"With a distinguished career in television production and business, Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role," Trump wrote.
