After Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall in South Carolina over the Fourth of July weekend bringing flash flooding to central North Carolina, the tropics are now quiet. Well, sort of.

A tropical storm watch stretches along the coast from Edisto Beach, S.C., to the South Santee River. The hurricane center said those elsewhere along the southeast coast of the United States should also keep an eye on Chantal. Chantal is expected to track slowly to the north and then northwest and move onshore in South Carolina by Sunday morning.

Tropical Storm Chantal brought a handful of tornadoes to North Carolina on Sunday even as flooding also took a toll on communities. The National Weather Service estimates four tornadoes touched down in the state,
